There's one called Portable CommandLine, one with no additional texts and one called Install. They all have the same version number, 8.1.3. I'm looking for one called Notepad++, so I'll type in notepad plus. There are 44 packages that have the word notepad in the ID. So I'll go to the top and search for packages. There's also a way to search the repository. And for the Flash Player Plugin, I would use Flash Player Plugin. To install Chrome, I would use package ID of Google Chrome. If you don't know what it is, you can come here and verify. You can usually guess what the package ID is when you're at the PowerShell. You also see on this page, if you look here, this is what you would use in PowerShell to install the package. Second most popular one is Chocolatey itself. Most popular package with 433 million downloads is Adobe Acrobat Reader. Sort by popularity, which is the default, or sort by A through Z or recent. There's also the ability to look at pre-release packages. We don't need that for this video so I'll go back to normal view. I think you would use this view if you've published a package and are waiting to see what the status of your package is. This shows all the packages that are waiting for moderators to validate and verify. And we're looking at what's called the normal view. There's 4,149 community maintained packages at the time I'm recording this video. So click here, and that brings up the ability to look through a list of packages or search for the packages. We're going to spend most of our time in this video, looking at fine packages. Now, of course, there are more total packages than unique packages because there's multiple versions of some of these packages. On the main page, you can see information about the number of known good packages, the number of unique packages over here, and the total number of packages that are on this repository. The site we're looking at here,, is the Chocolatey Community Repository. Most package manager systems have public package repositories, the place where package creators publish their work, and where package consumers find packages.
